I am noticing in the mirror my tummy might look a little better lol. I have had a headache for a couple days and there is potential for someone to get hurt if they eat chocolate in front of me 😂(joking). I am hanging in there tho. I am so tired of being tired, feeling over weight and my back hurting. Even tho I know I only have about 15 lbs to lose.,I am only 5’3” with a small frame so any xtra weight shows and affects me.

    • Dawn: and when we ride, ANY extra weight shows up in our middle! I’m 5’6″ and hit 180 this year (I’m 61). I freaked out and I’m having heck getting rid of the extra weight. I feel like I look awful on my horse, and it keeps me from wanting to show him. It’s day 5 on this sugar detox and I am sticking with it. I see the scale moving and clothes are more loose. Today at the office they will have the full Friday morning spread: bagels, donuts, etc. I will have to stay out of the kitchen! I am not going to touch it. I need to exercise, but I admit I’m sore from the workouts I’ve done these last few days.

      • I am having the worst time getting rid of the xtra weight 😢. I will be 50 in December and have started menapause so that is not helping any. Being a little sore from workouts is good. Just do what you can and soon enough you will find yourself getting they more days and longer workouts. I had a personal issue come up about 3 weeks ago so the working out isn’t happening , besides animal chores lol, but I really need to get back to it.

    • I hear you both! I am 53 and going through the same thing. And yes, it all goes right to the middle. I think I have gained 35 pounds in the past 5 years, it’s awful. I am feeling better already with the challenge, so I’m sticking with it!

      • Ok ladies, I was SOOOOO tough today! They had bagels, donuts, strawberries, grapes and leftover graham crackers and marshamalows (from the chocolate fountain at the baby shower) all spread out in the kitchen this morning. Nope, I stared at it and thought of that last photo on my horse, with my tummy prominately displayed. I stayed tough and ate the hamburger patty and the chicken breast I had in the fridge. Definitely dull, but no way was I going to break my 5 day streak on the sugar detox !!!! For those of you in your 50s, start now, hang tough, and if you fall off the wagon just climb back on. I couldn’t exercise today because my knee was a little sore after the last 3 days, but tomorrow I am all in, with the exercise.

        • Awesome job 😊…it’s not easy but we all have to take care of ourself. I for one am having a very emotional day and I tend to want to just sit and eat sweets. 5:45 pm ( where I am ) and I have been able to stay strong. Just a few more hours till bed lol

          • Yes, my emotional eating is sweets as well. Hang in there! You can do it! You will be so glad you stuck it out when Wednesday comes. Try to think, what will I feel like if I give in… the feeling will pass. But, yes it’s hard. I’ve been drinking sparkling water and it has really helped. No sugar, carbs, fat. Some say it’s unhealthy, but I need something to get me by.

        • You are amazing! Now that is the true test! Yes, I agree… we’re not giving up with less than 5 days to go! 🙂

    • Yes, many of us are in the same boat! It completely starts to change when you hit your mid 40’s…. Ahhggg… It’s easier when you have others going through the same thing, that’s for sure! Thanks for sharing!
