Less of a headache today from sugar withdrawals. It’s a drug y’all! Lol Trying to replace it with water, since that seems to help most things.

Another, less altruistic motivation is to look good again in a bikini haha! Hubby and I were blessed enough to get to honeymoon in Bora Bora, Tahiti, and Moorea, and eventually would love to go back. It’s so humid there, it’s great to not feel the need to cover up.

Has anyone done baby weight exercises, where you work out with your baby as the weight? Sometimes, when Bubbles just won’t accept not being held, it turns into a pretty good workout.

I didn’t get a chance to post yesterday; Bubbles is starting to teeth and needs lots of mama time lately. He loves being held, and pounding on keyboards, so I can’t do much on the computer when he needs me.
Anyway, I cut a lot of time off my neighborhood loop yesterday morning. I’m down to my early pregnancy time of exactly 40 minutes. I was…[Read more]

Is it just me or do you crave chocolate like no other when the stress hits the fan….? I’m dying right now… brushing my teeth… walking around the building….

    • Kat replied 7 years ago

I use that trick too sometimes – brushing your teeth to help get over cravings haha. I’m kind of the opposite – I want chocolate and sweets when I’m relaxed.

Morning ladies!! It’s dark at 6 am in Dallas!! So this is me in the hotel room right after a walk/jog on a pretty nice path around the hotel. I scared some squirrels, cats and crickets. Time for a shower and a loooooooong business meeting. NO DONUTS at the meeting I hope

It’s been a long but good day! I was able to get a 70 min total workout in 😊 half was walking/ jogging and half was body weight leg workout. I have been getting better, but I truly struggle with being too competitive with myself. I need to remember I don’t have go 100% or 0%. I really struggle with walking vs running, taking more time to do cer…[Read more]

    • Start where you are, do what you can, right??

      • Haha I know it, but it’s been different knowing vs doing. That’s now changing.

    • Kat replied 7 years ago

I can relate! It’s hard when you are competitive – we are told the we should be our own competition, which is great, but we have to find that in-between you are talking about. Not as a resting place where we become stagnant, but as a step towards winning the competition against yester-us lol

      • EXACTLY!!! Lol. It’s okay to not be breaking records everyday, but keep doing stuff everyday to keep getting stronger and breaking personal records in the long run!

If you haven’t read the blog about spring cleaning… you should. As a 50 year old cowgirl illness and poor health is a fact of life if you don’t take control! My favorite from the article was…. if you do not make the time for exercise, you will have to make time for illness.

    • So true. I’m trying to combat what is probably coming in the near future…

      • Listen I have rheumatoid arthritis and when I was eating a lot of sugar it was BAD! Since I have restricted sugar I am off my medicine and my joints are working again. Now that we are doing this challenge they are even better. I have said it and I will say it again… Sugar is the DEVIL

        • That is great news! Yes, since I started my 50’s I am feeling it in trying to do my workouts and everything. My goal is to lose about 35 pounds. I know I will feel much better.

I woke up soooo tired today, & successfully avoided sugar to start my day!

I’m not going to lie… I put a brownie bite in my mouth…chewed and then spit it out… chocolate is not a comfort for stress… I repeat … is not a comfort…

    • Haha!! I hear ya! Good for you to spit it out!! Maybe that’s the key, put it in our mouths, get the taste for a second and then spit it out!! Hey, that might work. 🙂

Oo, is that butternut squash in there?

      • Yes it is… and cauliflower… with bean salsa… It’s really good!

        • Kat replied 7 years ago

Wow, that sounds great! The kind of healthy food that tricks you into thinking it’s a treat.

  • I’m 50 I look around at older people and I think to myself… I want a better life than that… I don’t want to ever give up riding… I want to feel good enough to play with grandchildren some day…

    • Kat replied 7 years ago

I especially love that last part about playing with grandchildren some day. My mom and MIL had some health scares while I was pregnant, and we weren’t sure if they would still be around for our baby. Thankfully, they both made it through and changed their lifestyles to overcome! It’s so great to see them with Bubbles.
